Crime Watch - May 19 and 20, 2017

Detective1) File 17-4121 May 19, theft from motor vehicles reported from Crocus Corner in the Morningstar Subdivision. The suspect was seen fleeing from the vehicle at 03:00 a.m. Nothing of significance stolen from the vehicle as it appears the suspect was spooked.

2) May 19, Several reports were received of theft from vehicles. All of the thefts occurred in the Morningstar subdivision of French Creek. Of the 9 vehicles targeted, all had been left unlocked. This is a preventable crime in hopefully were serve as a reminder to always lock and secure your valuables.

3) File 17-4165 May 20 A red Jeep YJ was stolen from Sanderson Road in Parksville. Approximately 3 hours later the vehicle was located by the RCMP (unoccupied) on Melrose Road in Errington.

4) File 17-4172 May 20 A resident from Wembley Road called the police to report that a bike was located in his yard and he had no idea where it had come from. The bike had the sticker of the business where the bike was purchased and a call revealed the owner. The owner who resides on Church Road was contacted and then made the discovery that 2 of his bikes had been stolen. The other bike, still unaccounted for is Specialized brand full suspension mountain bike.
