Crime Watch Report - December 27 to January 2, 2021

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 254 complaints.

 

1) File 2020-13414: Change and a tool was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Sandwedge Close, Qualicum Beach, on December 27th.

2) File 2020-13442: Personal papers were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Acacia Street South, Parksville, on December 28th.

3) File 2020-13444: A decorative seahorse weighing 200 lbs was reported stolen from a property in the 1300 block of Leeward Way, Qualicum Beach, on December 28th. The item has been a fixture for 30 years.

4) File 2020-13446: A grey with red trim Diamond Back Recoil mountain bike was reported stolen in the 200 block of Dunbar Way, Parksville, on December 28th. A bike lock was cut to gain access.

5) File 2020-13454: Debit and credit cards were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Butler Avenue, Parksville, on December 28th.

6) File 2020-13473: A suspicious person was reported trying to gain access to vehicles in the early hours in the 100 block of Samuel Place, Parksville, on December 29th.

7) File 2020-13480: A vehicle was reported stolen in the 200 block of Judges Row, Qualicum Beach, on December 29th. Vehicle was later recovered.

8) File 2020-13482: A credit card was stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Ballenas Road, Parksville, on December 29th. There was no damage to the vehicle.

9) File 2020-13483: Storage lockers were breached and other damage was reported to a property in the 200 block of Second Avenue West, Qualicum Beach, on December 29th.

10) File 2020-13486: Four storage lockers and an electric bike were reported from a property in the 3100 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on December 29th. The stolen e-bike was a black Velec Citil-16197,

11) File 2020-13489: A suspicious person was reported trying to gain access to vehicles in the 1000 block of Osprey Way, Parksville, on December29th.

12) File 2020-13520: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 1000 block of Brookfield Crescent, Parksville, on December 30th. Two painter lamps were reported missing.

13) File 2020-13522: An attempted break-and-enter to an outbuilding was reported in the 2500 block of Palmer Road, Qualicum Beach, on December 30th.  An audible alarm alerted the owner.

14) File 2020-800112: Medications and gift cards were among items reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on December 30th.

15) File 2020-13526: A suspicious person was reported trying to gain access to vehicles in the 200 block of Lodgepole Drive, Parksville, on December 30th.

16) File 2020-13530: Two unlocked vehicles were reported rummaged through in the 500 block of Wembley Road, Parksville, on December 30th.

17) File 2020-13537: A grey Kona Caldera 21 speed mountain bike was found in the 400 block of Church Road, Parksville, on December 30th. Please contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

18) File 2020-13559: Thefts and damage to vehicles was reported from an unground parking garage in the 100 block of Lombardy Street, Parksville, on December 31st.

19) File 2020-13560: Money was reported stolen from a cash donation box in the 2800 block of Grafton Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on December 31st.

20) File 2020-13562: An orange and black Supercycle Phantom 28 mountain bike was reported stolen in the 100 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on December 31st.

21) File 2021-15: A garage door opener from an unlocked vehicle was reported used to steal a grey Marlin 5 Trek bike and two sets of snowshoes from a property in the 200 block of Mulberry Place, Parksville, on January 1st.

22) File 2021-17: An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 300 block of McKinnon Street, Parksville on January 1st.

23) File 2021-35: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 3600 block of Alberni highway, Qualicum Beach, on January 2nd.  Till and cash stolen in addition to damage to building.

24) File 2021-57: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 600 block of Fir Street, Qualicum Beach, on January 2nd. Suspects were apprehended.

25) File 2021-96: A Champion 6500 watt generator, model 41153, was reported stolen from the local volunteer fire department in the 1900 block of Errington Road, Errington, between December 31st and January 2nd.
