Crime Watch Report - February 21 to 27, 2022

DetectiveDuring this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 221 complaints.

1) File 2022-1555: A daytime prowler was reported in the 200 block of Dunbar Way, Parksville, on February 21.

2) File 2022-1570: A storage container forced entry was reported in the 1000 block of Herring Gull Way, Parksville, on February 22. Locks were noted cut but nothing reported missing.

3) File 2022-1572: A vehicle was vandalized in the 100 block of McCarter Street, Parksville, on February 22. A vehicle window was noted broken.

4) File 2022-1573: A business was reported vandalized in the 1200 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on February 22. Refer to RCMP Press Release on February 22, 2022.

5) File 2022-1575: A vehicle was reported vandalized when air was let out of the front tires in the 200 block of Seacroft Road, Qualicum Beach, on February 22. 

6) File 2022-1579: A daytime prowler was reported in the 1000 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on February 22.

7) File 2022-1584: A daytime prowler was reported in the 300 block of Hall Road, Qualicum Beach, on February 22.

8) File 2022-1595: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2700 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on February 22.

9) File 2022-1602: A Stihl model MS170 chainsaw was reported stolen from the back of a vehicle in the 2300 block of Island Highway East, Nanoose Bay, on February 22.

10) File 2022-1613: A motorcycle was reported vandalized in the 2400 block of Island Highway East, Nanoose Bay, on February 23. The speedometer and seat were noted damaged as well as fuel syphoned.

11) File 2022-1615: The exhaust system was reported stolen from a vehicle left on Highway 19 near the Whisky Creek Bridge, on February 23. Fuel was also noted missing.

12) File 2022-1621: BC plate DV878G was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of Kasba Circle, Parksville, on February 23. 

13) File 2022-1628: A Canada Post mailbox was forced open and mail reported stolen on Meadowood Way, Qualicum Beach, on February 23.  Mail believed to have been stolen in this incident has since been recovered and investigators are continuing with the investigation.

14) File 2022-1629: A counterfeit US $1 bill, serial L79626959H, was reported received by a local business on February 23. 

15) File 2022-1630: A black Monster brand backpack including contents was found in the 100 block of Pym 
Street North, Parkville
on February 23. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

16) File 2022-1666: BC plate CB640C was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Barclay Crescent, Parksville on February 24. The validation sticker was recovered in North Cowichan.

17) File 2022-1696: BC plates CJ895P were reported stolen and replaced with two mismatching plates on a vehicle in the 500 block of Panorama Place, Parksville, on February 25.

18) File 2022-1711: A large industrial metal four-wheel cart was found in the 800 block of Aberdeen Drive, Parksville, on February 26. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

19) File 2022-800028: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of Coombs Road, Coombs, on February 26. 

20) File 2022-1750: Three utility trailers were reported to have had their locks cut in the 200 block of Corfield Street north, Parksville, on February 27. Bolt cutters were seized in the area.
