Crime Watch Report - February 23 to 29, 2020

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 240 complaints.

 

1) File 2020-1627: A garden hose and a suitcase were reported from a property in the 100 block of Finholm Street North, Parksville, on February 23rd.

2) File 2020-1634: Change and a Garmin GPS were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Crabapple Crescent, Parksville, on February 23rd.

3) File 2020-1635: Change was reported stolen from two vehicles in the 700 block of Forsyth Avenue, Parksville, on February 23rd. There was no damage or signs of forced entry.

4) File 2020-1652: Two Honda generators, two Milwaukee drills and other construction equipment valued at approximately $20,000 were reported stolen from a property in the 1300 block of Valley Road, Parksville, on February 24th.

5) File 2020-1653: Change was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of Vine Drive, Parksville, on February 24th.

6) File 2020-1670: Prada sunglasses (valued $600) and Beats headphones (valued $200) were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of James Street, Parksville, on February 24th.

7) File 2020-1721: Latest scam is an unsolicited phone call to a resident advising that they had won an iPhone and that $1.45 was required to pay for the taxes and it had to be paid by credit card. The resident phoned the supposed company and found there was no such contest.

8) File 2020-1727: BC license 579KPK was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Davis Avenue, Parksville, on February 26th.

9) File 2020-1738: A yellow Snap-on Impact gun was reported stolen from a property in the 2500 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs, on February 26th.

10) File 2020-1756: A Viking Way model 26” mountain bike was recovered by Oceanside RC MP in the 200 block of Dogwood Street, Parksville, on February 27th. Please contact the Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

11) File 2020-1757: Change was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of Glenhale Crescent, Parksville, on February 27th.

12) File 2020-1784: Several calls from area residents of Jenkins Place / Daffodil Drive, Parksville, reporting a trespasser at night resulted in the arrest of a subject with an outstanding warrant on February 28th.

13) File 2020-1793: A ring was found in the washroom at the Parksville Community Park and was turned into the Oceanside RCMP by a resident on February 28th. Please contact Oceanside RCMP during regular office hours to claim.

14) File 2020-1795: A youth charcoal grey Diamondback bike was reported stolen in a residential break-and-enter in the 100 block of Woodland Drive, Parksville, on February 28th.

15) File 2020-1799: A bag containing two lithium batteries for a portable oxygen tank were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle while shopping in Parksville, on February 28th.

16) File 2020-1810: Change was reported stolen from a vehicle reported to be locked in the 100 block of McKinnon Street, Parksville, on February 28th. There was no damage to the vehicle.

17) File 2020-1816: Change was reported stolen and there was no damage to a vehicle in the 200 block of Hirst Avenue, Parksville, on February 28th.

18) File 2020-1822: A Kodak camera valued at $700 was reported stolen and there was no damage to vehicle in the 200 block of Hirst Avenue, Parksville, on February 28th.

19) File 2020-1839: A vehicle was reported stolen in the 200 block of Kenmuir Road, Qualicum Beach, on February 29th. The vehicle was recovered a few hours later Oceanside RCMP.

20) File 2020-1850: A resident on Pioneer Crescent, Parksville, reported a suspicious person resulting in the arrest of a subject with an outstanding warrant, on February 29th.

21) File 2020-1853: A Toshiba laptop was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 6100 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on February 29th.

22) File 2020-1867: A 20 lb propane tank was reported stolen from a property in the 1300 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on February 29th.
