Crime Watch Report - January 19 to 25, 2020

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 196 complaints.

 

1) File 2020-562: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 1100 block of Belevue Road, Parksville, on January 20th. There was damage to the building and a laptop was stolen. Surveillance video was provided to the RCMP.

2) File 2020-564: A break-and-enter to a detached room was reported in the 900 block of Allenby Road, Parksville, on January 20th.

3) File 2020-577: A motor vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 300 block of Blower Road, Parksville, on January 20th.

4) File 2020-584:  Change was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 700 block of Philips Street, Parksville, on January 20th.

5) File 2020-585: A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 100 block of Meridian Way, Parksville, on January 20th.

6) File 2020-589: A lock was reported cut from a shed in the 300 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on January 20th.

7) File 2020-591: A pair of black door rubber/magnetic stoppers valued $150 were reported stolen from two vehicles in the 2700 block of Alberni Highway, Qualicum Beach, on January 20th. Surveillance video was provided to the RCMP.

8) File 2020-593: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 1400 block of Springhill Road, Parksville, on January 21st. RCMP arrested a suspect in the vicinity of the crime.

9) File 2020-598: A large quantity of propane tanks were stolen from a business in the 6800 block of Island Highway West, Bowser, on January 21st. Security video was obtained.

10) File 2020-599: An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 1200 block of Sunrise Drive, Parksville, on January 21st. Nothing was reported stolen.

11) File 2020-601: A heat pump was damaged and the metal surrounding including wires were reported stolen in the 1000 block of Allsbrook Road, Parksville, on January 21st.

12) File 2020-605: A 12” x 12” safe and a pair of speakers were reported stolen from a business in the 300 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on January 21st.

13) File 2020-616: A flare gun and four flares were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1500 block of Maron Trail, Parksville, on January 21st.

14) File 2020-617: A fence was reported damaged in the 500 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on January 21st.

15) File 2020-641: A property was reported vandalized with graffiti in the 800 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on January 22nd.

16) File 2020-667: Two unlocked vehicles were reported rummaged through in the 200 block of Hoylake Road East, Qualicum Beach, on January 23rd. Nothing was reported stolen.

17) File 2020-669: Locks were reported cut on a secure area for dumpsters in the 100 block of Memorial Avenue, Parksville, on January 23rd. Items were strewn about.

18) File 2020-675: A resident in Qualicum Beach was reported defrauded by someone posing as an on-line Gmail Support person who was given access to their computer and the resident was asked to pay for the service by buying Google Play cards, on January 23rd.

19) File 2020-676: A driveway gate was reported damaged in the 1300 block of Memorial Avenue, Errington, on January 23rd.

20) File 2020-680: A walker was reported stolen in the 400 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on January 23rd.

21) File 2020-697: An unlocked vehicle was rummaged through in the 100 block of Hoylake Road East, Qualicum Beach, on January 24th. A multi tool was left behind.

22) File 2020-723: A vehicle was reported damaged and rummaged through in the 200 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on January 25th
