Crime Watch Report - January 5 to 11, 2020

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 229 complaints.

 

1) File 2020-117: A garage door opener, Swiss army knife and change were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Dogwood Street, Parksville, on January 5th.

2) File 2020-134: A battery valued at $300 was reported stolen from construction equipment in the 900 block of Chatsworth Road, Qualicum Beach., on January 6th.

3) File 2020-143: A BC vehicle validation tag was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of Pratt Road, Qualicum Beach, on January 6th.

4) File 2020-147: The latest phone scam is a caller states that the resident has won $55 million dollars and two vehicles in the Reader’s Digest Lottery and requires a small deposit of $5,000 to verify identity.

5) File 2020-150: Change was reported taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Dogwood Street, Parksville, on January 6th.

6) File 2020-160: A thief attempted to steal fuel from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Herring Gull Way, Parksville, on January 6th.

7) File 2020-163: A vehicle window was smashed and the ignition tampered with in the 300 block of Clarkson Place, Parksville, on January 7th.

8) File 2020-170: Leather driving gloves, Gucci glasses and a red TomTom GPS unit were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Horne Lake Rd, Qualicum Beach, on January 7th.

9) File 2020-172: A Craftsman 2 HP compressor, a 5 gallon shop vac and a long list of materials were reported stolen from a property in the 2700 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs, on January 7th.

10) File 2020-176: Four bicycles were reported stolen from a property in the 500 block of Berwick Rod North, Qualicum Beach, on January 7th.

11) File 2020-185: A lock was reported cut off a dumpster in the 900 Fairdowne Rd, Parksville, on January 7th.

12) File 2020-203: A vehicle window was reported broken in the 3700 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum, on January 8th.

13) File 2020-205: Locks were reported damaged on out buildings in the 200 block of Bagshaw Street, Parksville, on January 8th.

14) File 2020-206: A vehicle window was reported broken in the 1100 block of Allsbrook Road, Errington, on January 8th.

15) File 2020-210: A gold coloured ring was found in the 100 block of Finholm St, Parksville, on January 8th. Please contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

16) File 2020-211: A vehicle window was reported broken in the 3200 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on January 8th.

17) File 2020-215: BC vehicle license plate HV285R was reported stolen from a vehicle parked for sale in Qualicum Beach, on January 8th.

18) File 2020-223: Damage estimated at $500 was reported to a vehicle door lock in the 800 block of Retegno Avenue, Parksville, on January 8th.

19) File 2020-249: A BC vehicle validation sticker was reported stolen in the 500 block of Pine St, Qualicum Beach, on January 9th.

20) File 2020-255: A speeding motorist was pulled over by police in a marked vehicle on Morrison Avenue, Parksville, on January 9th. The motorist was found to have expired insurance as well as speeding resulting in tickets and vehicle impoundment.

21) File 2020-265: It took five hours of labour to removed graffiti from a park in the 600 block of Pym St, Parksville, on January 9th.

22) File 2020-272: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 800 block of Wembley Rd, Parksville, on January 9th.

23) File 2020-291: A vehicle was reported to have caused damage to landscaped grass in the 100 block of Despard Ave W, Parksville, in January 10th. A vehicle license plate was obtained.

24) File 2020-293: A four wheel scooter and a B3500 Honda generator together valued at $4,000 was reported stolen from the 500 block of Martindale Rd, Parksville, on January 10th.

25) File 2020-387: A phone charger was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 3800 block of Melrose Rd, Qualicum Beach, on January 11th
