Crime Watch Report - June 14 to 17, 2016

Detective1) 2016-5231 On June 14th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 3800 block of Charlton Drive in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that during the early morning hours culprits entered her unlocked vehicle and stole an IPad, calculator, cologne and some change.

2) 2016-5239 On June 14th, a mischief to property was reported to have occurred in the 2300 block of Granville Road in Nanoose Bay. The complainant advised that there is a vacant house on her street that has been empty for about one year. She recently noticed that the cable and smart reader boxes have been pried open and the siding around the units have been damaged as well.

3) 2016-5255 On June 15th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 3800 block of Charlton Drive in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that two of his unlocked vehicles had been entered and a debit card, a pair of sunglasses and a small amount of change had been stolen.

4) 2016-5264 On June 16th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred on Bald Eagle Crescent in Bowser. The complainant advised that during the early hours of June 11th, his unlocked vehicle was entered and a portable marine radio, a Garmin GPS, a small blue change purse, a pair of sunglasses, several black flashlights and a pair of binoculars, were stolen.

5) 2016-5272 On June 15th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Moilliet Street S in Parksville. The complainant advised that sometime during the evening a Garmin NUVI GPS was stolen from his unlocked vehicle.

6) 2016-5293 On June 15th, a break and enter was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Island highway West in Parksville. The complainant advised that a shed on the far N/E corner of the property had been entered. The complainant is the care taker of the shed which used to be a surf shop but has been closed since 2014. Two clasps on the shed had been ripped off allowing the culprits access into the shed. A number of old surfboards and windsurf boards were being stored in the shed. It is unknown at this time if anything is missing.

7) 2016-5291 On June 16th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1500 block of Alberni Highway in Coombs. The complainant advised that culprits entered his unlocked vehicle during the daytime and stole various personal pieces of identification.

8) 2016-5293 On June 16th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Linx Road in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that during the early hours of June 13th, his unlocked vehicle had been entered and some compact discs and change had been stolen.

9) 2016-5310 On June 16th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1500 block of Alberni Highway. The complainant advised that enter was gained into his locked vehicle via an insecure window. The culprits stole his wallet containing various pieces of identification.

10) 2016-5324 On June 17th, a theft was reported to have occurred from a residence in the 200 block of Pym Street in Parksville. The complainant advised that the culprits entered his unlocked vehicle and used his garage door opener to open his garage. Once inside the garage the thieves stole all of his painting tools valued well over $5000.00.
