Crime Watch Report - June 17 to 20, 2016

Detective1) 2016-5326 On June 17th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 700 block of Nanoose Avenue in Parksville. The complainant advised that during the early morning hours culprits entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a blue duffle bag with white lettering spelling out,’ Set BC’, on it. Also stolen was a back pack and grey IPad.

2) 2016-5327 On June 17th, a theft from a construction site was reported to have occurred in the 700 block of Lowry”s Road in Parksville. The complainant advised that several locks on several of their work sheds had been tampered with and a large blue compressor with a green hose, valued at $500.00, had been stolen.

3) 2016-5328 On June 17th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 800 block of Shorewood Drive in Parksville. The complainant advised that sometime during the evening culprits entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his change drawer containing approximately $35.00 in coin. The complainant found the change drawer discarded on the street further down the road from his residence in the morning.

4) 2016-5329 On June 17th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 700 block of Nanoose Avenue in Parksville. The complainant advised that during the early hours culprits entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a pair of ladies Nike running shoes valued at approximately $100.00. This incident is possibly associated to #1.

5) 2016-5331 On June 17th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 800 block of Barclay Crescent in Parksville. The complainant advised that sometime in the past 3 or 4 weeks an Interstate 12 Volt Marine RV SRM-24 battery, valued at $160.00, was stolen off of her camper.

6) 2016-5339 On June 17th, a break, enter and theft was reported to have occurred in the 700 block of West Ridge Way in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that during the early morning hours their new home under construction had been broken into. The culprits gained entry into the residence by prying open a vinyl window. A Bosch 12 inch compound mitre saw and stand, one American Standard bathroom sink in the box, one Elleci granite double kitchen sink and a Danby wine cooler (black and stainless in colour), valued at $1800.00, were stolen. The damage to the window was approximately $300.00.

7) 2016-5367 On June 18th, an attempted theft of boat motor was reported to have occurred in the 800 block of Shorewood Drive in Parksville. The complainant advised that sometime in the past ten days, culprits tried to steal the motor off his boat. The caps covering the locking bolts on the mounts of his motor had been taken off. Realizing that they did not have a key to unlock the specialized bolts it appears that the culprits gave up and abandoned their efforts.

8) 2016-5369 On June 18th, a mischief to a business in the 100 block of Island Highway West in Parksville, was reported to have occurred. The complainant advised that two small windows were found to be smashed however no entry was gained into the premises.

9) 2016-5404 On June 19th, a theft of trailer was reported to have occurred in the 700 block of West ridge Way in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that he was a contractor working on a residence under construction and sometime overnight his white utility trailer, BC licence 0573C, was stolen. There was approximately $25,000 worth of various tools in the trailer. It is believed that this theft is associated to #6.

10) 2016-5435 On June 20th, a theft was reported to have occurred in the 500 block of Corfield Street in Parksville. The complainant advised that during daytime hours, he left his garage door open to allow workers inside and culprits stole a Hoover vacuum valued at $350.00.
