Crime Watch Report - June 5 to 9, 2016

Detective1) 2016-4885 On June 5th, a theft of vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 2100 block of Halona Way in Coombs. The complainant advised that between June 3rd and 5th, culprits stole a white 1988 Ford F350 flat deck, BC license JC-1380 from the company work yard.

2) 2016-4918 On June 6th, a theft was reported to have occurred in the 400 block of Ridgefield Drive in Parksville. The complainant advised that during the early morning hours culprits stole between 7-10 sheets of ¾ inch sub floor plywood from a residence under construction.

3) 2016-4919 On June 6th, a theft from several vehicles was reported to have occurred at an outdoor compound in the 1700 block of Alberni Highway in Parksville. The complainant advised that culprits entered the compound and forced entry into several recreational vehicles. The only thing that appears stolen is one extension cord.

4) 2016-4962 On June 6th, a theft of vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1800 block of Gibbs Road in Coombs. The complainant advised that his uninsured red 1994 F250 pickup was stolen off his property. On June 7th a marked police vehicle noted the stolen pickup getting fuel at the Mid Island co-op at 1401 Alberni Highway and when the officer pulled into the gas station a lone male fled on foot. The male was captured shortly afterwards and theft of vehicle charges are pending.

5) 2016-4967 On June 7th, a mischief to property was reported to have occurred in the 2300 block of Widgeon Road in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that sometime overnight culprits destroyed his blue mail box and a school crossing sign in front of his property.

6) 2016-5016 On June 8th, a theft of cell phone was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Pym Street in Parksville. The complainant advised that her white Apple IPhone 5 in a pink and white case was stolen out of her backpack while attending class at Ballenas Secondary school.

7) 2016-5024 On June 8th, a mischief to vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 500 block of Johnstone Road in Parksville. The complainant advised that she does not know when the damage occurred however someone definitely keyed the driver’s side of her vehicle.

8) 2016-5025 On June 8th, a theft from business was reported to have occurred in the 1700 block of Alberni Highway in Coombs. The complainant advised that during the early hours three hanging baskets valued at $150.00, were stolen.

9) 2016-5049 On June 9th, a theft was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of McVickers Street in Parksville. The complainant advised that three garden hoses, 2 X 50 foot blue Greenline hoses and 1 X 50 foot Flexzilla hose were stolen from the Parksville Community Garden sometime overnight.

10) 2016-5053 On June 9th, a theft from boat was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Burne Road in Bowser. The complainant advised that sometime in the past four months culprits entered his boat that was moored at the Deep Bay Marina and stole his outboard motor and chart plotter.
