1) 2016-2025 On March 10th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 3700 block of Alberni Highway in Whiskey Creek. The complainant advised that while in a store culprits entered his unlocked truck and stole an undisclosed quantity of cash.
2) 2016-2056 On March 11th, a break, enter and theft was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Weld Street in Parksville. The complainant advised that a small building that he rents space in has been broken into. A quantity of tools, landscaping equipment and several laptops were reported stolen.
3) 2016-2064 On March 12th, a break, enter and theft to a business was reported to have occurred in the 7000 block of Island Highway West in Bowser. The complainant advised that upon arrival at work he discovered a metal door at the rear of the business badly damaged and had been pried open. The telephone lines to the building had been cut. The culprits pried open a standalone lotto terminal stealing and an unknown amount of cash. As well, an undetermined amount of alcohol was stolen from the bar. The thieves fled via an external side door. A review of video surveillance describe the suspect as being a Caucasian male, approximately 5’10” to 6’0” tall, with a lean build, possible facial hair, wearing a lighter coloured hoodie, lighter toned pants, gloves and dark skater type shoes with white soles and laces. This matter remains under investigation.
4) 2016-2068 On March 12th, a break, enter and theft to a detached shed was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Hickey Avenue in Parksville. The complainant advised that he inadvertently left the garage unlocked after dropping some stuff off that day. The complainant advised that when he went back to secure the garage he discovered that a PS3 with ten games, a socket set and a Ridgid multi tool kit with a jig saw attachment, had been stolen.
5) 2016-2079 On March 12th, a mischief to a shed was reported to have occurred in the 1400 block of Grafton Avenue in Errington. The complainant went back to her shed and noticed that the lock had been broken off the building. Fortunately the shed was empty so nothing was stolen. This incident was reported for information purposes.
6) 2016-2121 On March 14th, a mischief to two vehicles was reported to have occurred in the 600 block of Memorial Avenue in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that both she and husband’s vehicles had a window smashed out. A bag inside her vehicle containing running shoes was stolen. Nothing was stolen from her husband’s vehicle. The complainant noted several other vehicles in the parking lot also had smashed windows.
7) 2016-2134 On March 14th, a mischief to vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 700 block of Jones Street in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that the rear window of his truck was smashed and a laptop computer stolen while he was parked in the Ravensong Aquatic Centre parking lot.
8) 2016-2136 On March 15th, a break, enter and theft was reported to have occurred to a residence in the 700 block of Daffodil Drive in Parksville. The complainant advised that while he slept someone entered his residence via the front door which he inadvertently left unlocked. Four or five pairs of sunglasses, a black leather jacket, a set of house keys, several Canadian passports and approximately $200.00 in change was stolen.
9) 2016-2148 On March 15th, a theft from a business was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue in Parksville. The complainant advised that three First Nations adults entered the store and the two females caused a distraction by trying on sun glasses and laughing, etc. At one point one female got her hair caught in the sunglasses and had to go to the washroom to get the glasses out of her hair. While this was occurring the male managed to conceal at least two pair of sunglasses valued at approximately $600.00 and quickly walked out of the store. A check of video surveillance later confirmed the theft. This matter remains under investigations.
10) 2016-2161 On March 16th, a mischief to vehicle was reported to have occurred in a parking lot on Veterans Way at Memorial Avenue in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that between 8:15 and 9:15 pm on March 14th, culprits smashed the rear driver’s side window of her vehicle. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.
