Crime Watch Report - March 2 to 6, 2016

Detective1) 2016-1806 On March 2nd, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1000 block of Aery View Way in Parksville. The complainant advised that he inadvertently left his vehicle unlocked and in the morning discovered both doors wide open.  A small quantity of change was stolen.

2) 2016-1809 On March 2nd, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1100 block of Franklins Gull Road in Parksville.  The complainant advised that a company vehicle parked behind his business was entered and a number of tools stolen.  Culprits cut a pad lock off the rear of the truck allowing entry into the vehicle.  A blue Bosch table saw, a yellow Dewalt sliding compound mitre saw, a teal Makita compressor, a black Sinko air gun, an orange Makira impact wrench and drill and a multi tool, were stolen.

3) 2016-1820 On March 2nd, a vehicle was reported to have been vandalized in the 700 block of Island Highway East in Parksville.  The complainant advised that as he was driving northbound across the Orange Bridge his rear driver’s side window exploded, possibly shot out by a pellet gun. No one was observed in the area of the bridge.

4) 2016-1831 On March 3rd, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 800 block of Retegno Avenue in Parksville.  The complainant advised that culprits entered his unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the centre console and glove box.  Nothing appeared to have been taken.

5) 2016-1867 On March 4th, a theft from a business was reported to have occurred in the 700 block of Memorial Avenue in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that while reviewing video surveillance a male and female were observed stealing a quantity of meat from the business on March 2nd around noon time.  The male selected a number of packages of meat and then met the female in another aisle and puts the product into a black bag the female was carrying and then she walks out of the store. The male then walks out of the store shortly thereafter.

6) 2016-1874 On March 4th, a theft from business was reported to have occurred in the 1400 block of Alberni Highway in Parksville. The complainant reported that sometime during the previous evening culprits went onto his used car lot and removed the front bumper off a 2010 Ford Ranger.  The bumper is valued at $500.00.  This matter remains under investigation while video surveillance is being examined.

7) 2016-1889 On March 5th, a theft from a construction site was reported to have occurred in the 2200 block of Bonnington Drive in Nanoose Bay.  The complainant advised that culprits stole a 3500 watt Ryobi generator valued at approximately $600.00.

8) 2016-1918 On March 6th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 400 block of Aquila Place in Parksville.  The complainant advised that culprits entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a black clutch wallet containing various identification and several debit and credit cards and a Zune music device with headphones.

9) 2016-1920 On March 6th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred on Magnolia Drive in Parksville.  The complainant advised that culprits entered his unlocked vehicle and stole approximately $50.00 in change and a Garmin GPS.

10) 2016-1923 On March 6th, a break, enter and theft was reported to have occurred in the 200 block of Fourneau Way in Parksville.  The complainant advised that during the early hours of March 2nd, he was awoken by his dog barking.  He looked out the window overlooking his property but saw nothing.  Several days later when he went to get something from his shed it was discovered that his Husquvarna weed trimmer and chain saw and his Archer gas powered pressure washer with Honda engine were stolen.
