Crime Watch Report - March 3 & 4, 2017

Detective1) March 3, a report of a theft from a shed in the 200 block of Shelly Road, Parksville was received. The property owner stated that over the past couple of weeks, several items have gone missing from his shed. These items included tools, wiring, welding supplies and copper piping.

2) March 3, a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt car was stolen from the corner of Bellevue Road and Alberni Highway. The owner had parked the car at that location, carpooled to work and upon his return, the car was gone. The vehicle was later located abandoned in a local gravel pit. The car will be examined by a forensic specialist prior to retuning it to the owner.

3) March 4, Oceanside RCMP were called to an underground parking lot below an apartment complex on Morison Avenue Parksville, to a report of a theft. Thieves had pried open 2 storage lockers and proceeded to steal unknown items.

4) March 4, the owner of a cabin on Horne Lake attended her residence and discovered that sometime over the past few days someone had broken into her storage shed. Stolen was a red Honda generator, fuel and food items from the freezer.

5) March 4, a theft from a boat that was parked on a property was reported on Korman Close in Errington. The boat owner discovered that someone had stolen his outboard motor off the back of the boat. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the cuddy had been broken into and several items including, rods, net and tackle were stolen.
