Crime Watch Report - May 15 to 19, 2016

Detective1) 2016-4146 On May 15th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 200 block of Moilliet Street S in Parksville. The complainant advised that during the early morning hours culprits entered her unlocked vehicle and stole some loose change from the centre console.

2) 2016-4147 On May 15th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 400 block of Island Highway West in Parksville. The complainant advised that culprits entered his property and ripped the stereo and speakers out of his uninsured vehicle.

3) 2016-4152 On May 15th, a theft was reported to have occurred in the 1000 block of Price Road in Parksville. The complainant advised that culprits came on to his property during daylight hours and stole his Makita mitre saw.

4) 2016-4156 On May 15th, a mischief was reported to have occurred at a business in the 100 block of Island Highway East in Parksville. The complainant advised that sometime during the evening culprits attempted to gain entry into the coins boxes in the men’s shower room. No entry was gained but there was minor damage to the coin boxes and wall.

5) 2016-4173 On May 16th, two vehicles were reported stolen from a business in the 3300 block of Alberni Highway in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that a red 2013 Jeep Patriot, BC license HMF-508 and a red 2008 Ford F450 pickup, BC license JT-4425, were stolen off his property sometime during the night. On May 17th, the Ford F450 was located abandoned on Carson Road in Qualicum Beach. The Jeep Patriot is still missing.

6) 2016-4183 On May 16th, a theft was reported to have occurred in the 700 block of Gaetjen Street in Parksville. The complainant advised that during the early morning hours culprits stole two wetsuits, one large and one small, off his rear deck. The wetsuits were Blue Seventy make and Reaction model.

7) 2016-4229 On May 17th, a theft of vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1800 block of Errington Road in Errington. The complainant advised sometime around May 5th, his green 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen from his yard. The motorcycle is not insured and is valued at approximately $2500.00.

8) 2016-4232 On May 17th, a break, enter and theft was reported to have occurred in the 3500 block of Alberni Highway in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that he had been away since May 13th and returned home to discover tire tracks on his lawn. Several doors were open that had been locked. The complainant entered his residence to find items strewn about and moved. The shop door was found open and several jars with approximately $1100.00 in change and a case of beer were missing.

9) 2016-4250 On May 18th, a mischief to vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 400 block of Aquila Place in Parksville. The complainant advised that sometime during the early morning hours culprits smashed the rear driver’s side window on her vehicle. A neighbour heard a noise around 1:00 am and went outside to investigate. This possibly scared the culprits off because nothing appeared to be missing.

10) 2016-4283 On May 19th, a mischief to property was reported to have occurred in the 1800 block of Schafers Road in Coombs. The complainant advised that in the early hours she was awoken by a loud crash and discovered that a large rock had been thrown through her front window. No one was observed in the area.
