Crime Watch Report October 11 to October 17 2020

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 269 complaints.

1) File 2020-10551: A surveillance camera was reported damaged in the 100 block of Corfield Street, Parksville, on October 11th. A suspect was identified and arrested.

2) File 2020-10565: A purse containing a wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on October 12th. There was no damage to the vehicle.

3) File 2020-10568: A resident reporting an abandoned vehicle resulted in the recovery of a dirt bike stolen from Port Alberni in the 400 block of Moilliet Street South, Parksville, on October 12th.

4) File 2020-10574: A purse left on the front seat of a vehicle was reported stolen in the 300 block of Judges Row, Qualicum Beach, on October 12th.  Entry was gained by smashing a window. RCMP investigation resulted in a subject being arrested.

5) File 2020-10576: A vehicle window was reported damaged in the 900 block of Royal Dornoch Drive, Qualicum Beach, on October 12th. Entry was not gained into vehicle.

6) File 2020-10586: An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 600 block of Blenkin Avenue, Parksville, on October 12th. Nothing was reported missing.

7) File 2020-10605: A vehicle was reported stolen in the 200 block of Fourth Avenue West, Qualicum Beach, on October 13th. The damaged vehicle was later recovered in Nanaimo and a subject arrested.

8) File 2020-10617: A propane tank was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 5300 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on October 13th.

9) File 2020-10638: A vehicle and building windows were reported damaged by a truck doing donuts in the 5900 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on October 14th.  Video surveillance was provided to Oceanside RCMP.

10) File 2020-10649: Auto parts were reported stolen from a business in the 600 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on Octobers 14th. The stolen materials were recovered and returned.

11) File 2020-10658: A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Kazan Avenue, Parksville, on October 14th. There was no damage to vehicle.

12) File 2020-10660: A vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 200 block of Dogwood Street, Parksville, on October 14th. There was no damage and nothing reported stolen.

13) File 2020-10662: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on October 14th.  Damage was sustained by glass display cases, display shelves and file cabinets.

14) File 2020-10692: A black specialized Cross Trail Sport 24 speed bicycle valued at $1,000 was reported stolen in the 2500 block of Outrigger Road, Nanoose Bay, on October 15th.

15) File 2020-10710: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 3700 block of Fairwinds Drive, Nanoose Bay, on October 16th. A hole was cut in a fence and recycling containers were stolen.

16) File 2020-10712: A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Stanford Avenue West, Parksville, on October 16th. A subject was identified and arrested.

17) File 2020-10713: Change was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Rowan Avenue, Parksville, on October 16th.

18) File 2020-10716: An unlocked vehicle was rummaged through in the 200 block of McVickers Street, Parksville, on October 16th.

19) File 2020-10722: Change was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Ballenas Place, Parksville, on October 16th.

20) File 2020-10727: Two Bissell carpet cleaning machines valued at $422 and money was reported stolen from an unsecured vehicle in the 200 block of Moilliet Street South, Parksville, on October 16th.

21) File 2020-10728: A pair of sunglasses were reports stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Bagshaw Street, Parksville, on October 16th.

22) File 2020-10729: A set of Craftsman wrenches were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville, on October 16th.

23) File 2020-10737: A candidates election signs were reported stolen in the area from Northwest Bay Road and Island Highway East, Nanoose Bay, on October 16th.

24) File 2020-10764: A green Cannondale mountain bike with neon green pedals was reported stolen in the area of 1100 block of Resort Drive, Parksville, on October 17th.

25) File 2020-10767: Two vehicles had their windows broken and a third vehicle reported rummaged through in the 300 block of Wembley Road, Parksville, on October 17th.

26) File 2020-10768: The door to a business was reported damaged in the 800 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on October 17th.

27) File 2020-10769: Beats headphones, RayBan sunglasses and a change were some of the items reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of McVickers Street, Parksville, on October 17th.

28) File 2020-10774: The hard drive from a car camera was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of McVickers Street, Parksville on October 17th.

29) File 2020-10777: A green Marin 11 speed bicycle valued at $4,000 was reported stolen in the 700 block of Primrose Street, Qualicum Beach, on October 17th.

30) File 2020-10781: Concrete block barriers were illegally removed at Highway 19 and Corcan Road, Qualicum Beach, on October 17th.
