Oceanside Community Safety Volunteers (OCSV) is currently looking for people who might like to serve on its Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for effectively governing the organization.
OCSV serves Oceanside with programs that help to keep its residents and businesses safe. Community Watch, Business Watch, Child Car Seat Safety, Bicycle Registration, Keeping in Touch, Medical Alert Kits, and Block Watch are just a few. OCSV volunteers are also present at a great many community events.
If you are interested in community safety, and have knowledge and skills in not-for-profit governance and human resources (especially training and managing & appreciating volunteers), this could be the volunteer opportunity you are looking for.
You would be expected to attend monthly, annual, and special board meetings. You should be willing to serve on and direct the work of committees, support OCSV events, and undergo an RCMP security screening.
