Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. It represents the one day in the year when the whole world voices its opposition to the abuse and suffering inflicted on some of our older generations. The Office of the Seniors Advocate monitors and analyzes seniors services and issues in B.C., and makes recommendations to government and service providers to address systemic issues. You can learn more about elder abuse through the Canadian Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse.
Oceanside RCMP and Oceanside Community Safety offer a FREE lecture series with topics such as Financial Safety and Counterfeits, Frauds and Scams, Internet and Cyber Crime, Elder Abuse, Cannabis Talk, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design, Personal and Property Safety and other interesting topics.
