After careful consideration and consultation, the board of Directors of BCCPA regret to provide notice that the BC Crime Prevention Association has begun the voluntary process of dissolving the association. We wish to further advise that 2022 membership fees have not been solicited or processed.
Originally, the BCCPA was created to facilitate the sharing of crime prevention strategies, community connections, and relationship building throughout the province. A dedicated group of volunteers and staff came together over the past 43 years serving its membership with pride and gratitude.
In the age of technology, demands for in-person learning and needs for support have dramatically reduced. Crime prevention relationships are now well established, with more extensive programs support smaller communities with information sharing.
The decision to dissolve the association has been challenging and has not come lightly to any board members or staff. We have explored all possible options without success. We thank all those who have assisted and participated in many years of meaningful relationships, successful symposiums and support to programs and partnerships.
We regret any inconvenience this causes and encourage members to continue to build on their partnerships and relationships that have proven to keep people and communities safe.
On behalf of the board of directors and staff, we thank you for your support and friendship.
