Crime Watch Report - April 15 to 18, 2016

Detective1) 2016-3074 On April 15th, a theft from a business was reported to have occurred in the 2200 block of Alberni Highway in Coombs. The complainant advised that he discovered a theft from his store and upon review of video surveillance observed several unknown suspects stealing property. This matter remains under investigation.

2) 2016-3101 On April 16th, a theft from a residence was reported to have occurred in the 1200 block of Middlegate Road in Errington. The complainant advised that four tires with rims belonging to a Subaru Impreza were stolen from behind her residence between April 14th and 16th.

3) 2016-3107 On April 16th, a theft of outboard motor was reported to have occurred in the 2100 block of South Lake Road in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that his Yamaha 50 hp motor was stolen off his boat which was parked on his property. A review of a game camera showed two males on the complainant’s property the previous day and a neighbour advised that he had heard a loud unfamiliar diesel engine that same day.

4) 2016-3109 On April 16th, a theft from business was reported to have occurred in the 6900 block of Island Highway West in Bowser. The complainant advised that while working alone culprits stole her purse off an office desk. The purse contained a large quantity of cash and credit cards. In addition to the purse, a small wooden bowl with a First Nations design valued at $600.00 was stolen. The store was very busy at the time of the theft.

5) 2016-3121 On April 17th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 800 block of Sonora Place in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that sometime in the early hours culprits entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a small amount of change and several compact discs.

6) 2016-3126 On April 17th, a mischief to vehicles was reported to have occurred at a business in the 1000 block of Herring Gull Way in Parksville. The complainant advised that gasoline was syphoned out of one of the company’s cargo vans and the gas line was cut on another and gasoline syphoned out of it.

7) 2016-???? On April 18th, a vehicle was reported stolen in the 800 block of Allsbrook Road in Parksville. The complainant advised that during the early morning hours culprits stole his red 1986 Toyota pickup, BC licence JA-7113.

8) 2016-3145 On April 18th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 200 block of Mulberry Lane in Parksville. The complainant advised that culprits entered his unlocked vehicle and stole approximately $30.00 in loose change.

9) 2016-3147/3151/3155/3161/3190 On April 18th, a theft from Canada Post property was reported to have occurred at various locations in our jurisdiction. The complainant had reports that various mailboxes in the Oceanside area had been pried open and an undisclosed amount of mail was stolen. Mailboxes at Stewart Road at Northwest Bay Road in Nanoose Bay, Hillview Road at Island Highway East in Nanoose Bay, Dolphin Drive at Park Place in Nanoose Bay, Dolphin Drive at Outrigger Road in Nanoose Bay and Dawson Road at Island Highway East in Nanoose Bay, were broken into.

10) 2016-3164 On April 18th, a mischief to vehicle was reported to have occurred on McMillan Street at Island Highway West in Parksville. The complainant advised that her vehicle was parked in a parking lot and sometime between April 15-17th, culprits keyed the passenger side of the vehicle.
