Crime Watch Report - April 21 to 27, 2016

Detective1) 2016-3279 On April 21st, a mischief to vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 800 block of Sunray Drive in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that sometime overnight culprits tried to gain entry into his vehicle by prying the chrome window casing off the passenger side window of his vehicle. Fortunately no entry was gained into the vehicle.

2) 2016-3281 On April 21st, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1300 block of Lanyon Drive in Parksville. The complainant advised that culprits gained entry into her vehicle via the unlocked rear passenger side door and stole a file folder containing personal documents. Later in the day a neighbour returned the file folder advising he had found it discarded several blocks away.

3) 2016-3315 On April 22nd, a break, enter and theft to a seasonal home was reported to have occurred in the 3200 block of Blueback Drive in Nanoose Bay. The complainant advised that entry was gained into the residence by prying open the rear patio doors. Although numerous items had been moved about the only notable items missing were some older jewelry.

4) 2016-3348 On April 23rd, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred on Errington Road at Alberni Highway in Parksville. The complainant advised that while their motorhome was at a business being repaired culprits gained entry into the vehicle via the passenger side window and stole various tools, personal items and two stereo converters, valued at between $800-$1000.00. The culprits exited the motorhome via the main door.

5) 2016-3355 On April 23rd, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 900 block of Allenby Road in Parksville. As the complainant was going to work he noticed the back door of his mobile home open. When he entered the living room he discovered that his 42” LG flat screen television had been stolen.

6) 2016-3357 On April 23rd, a mischief to property was reported to have occurred in the 300 block of Sutherland Place in Parksville. The complainant advised that sometime during the evening culprits had knocked down three panels of her fence. The complainant suspects youths as they often use the path way next to her fence to go down to the beach.

7) 2016-3410 On April 25th, an attempted break and enter was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 1500 block of Admiral Tryon Boulevard in Parksville. The complainant advised that sometime on Friday evening culprits tried to gain entry into her residence as boot marks were found on her door. Fortunately no entry was gained. This incident was reported for information purposes.

8) 2016-3414 On April 25th, a theft was reported to have occurred in the 2600 block of Powder Point Road in Nanoose Bay. The complainant advised that 12 to 15 plants were dug up and stolen from the gardens of St. Mary’s Anglican Church.

9) 2016-3432 On April 26th, a mischief to Canada Post property was reported to have occurred in the Nanoose Bay area. The complainant advised that mailboxes in the Outrigger Road/Dolphin Road/Redded Road/and Mallard Road areas were tipped over sometime during the evening.

10) 2016-3479 On April 27th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred at the pullout on Memorial Avenue in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that sometime over the past weekend, culprits smashed a side window allowing entry into his vehicle and stole his stereo and speakers.
