Crime Watch Report - August 14 to 20, 2021

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 302 complaints.  

 

1) File 2021-8736: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 400 block of Pioneer Crescent, Parksville, on August 14. 

2) File 2021-8738: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 2300 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs, on August 14.

3) File 2021-8747: A front tire was reported removed and stolen from a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Dunbar Way, Parksville on August 14.

4) File 2021-8770: Graffiti was reported sprayed on the roadway in the 1200 block of Rath Road, Parksville, on August 14. 

5) File 2021-8782: A vehicle was reported stolen in the 900 block of Fairdowne Road, Parksville, on August 15. The vehicle was recovered in Lantzville on August 19 with damage to the ignition switch.

6) File 2021-8787: A courier package left at residence was reported stolen in the 900 block of Fairdowne Road, Parksville on August 15.

7) File 2021-8797: BC plates JH338W were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Lowrys Road, Parksville, on August 15. The stolen plates were recovered on a vehicle in the Oceanside area.

8) File 2021-8802: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 800 block of Fairdowne Road, Parksville, on August 15. 

9) File 2021-8816: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 7000 block of Island Highway West, Bowser, on August 16. The male trespasser altered the security camera.

10) File 2021-8822: A white 208 Mirage Box trailer, BC plate 65136U, including contents were reported stolen in the 1700 block of Country Road, Qualicum Beach, on August 16. Some contents of the trailer were found in Courtenay on August 24.

11) File 2021-8826: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 2900 block of Leon Road, Qualicum Beach, on August 16. Cash was noted missing.

12) File 2021-8827: Three daytime trespassers were reported in the 300 block of Meadow View Street, Parksville, on August 16

13) File 2021-8828: A blue CCM 21 Speed mountain bicycle was reported stolen in the 300 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on August 16.

14) File 2021-8856: The theft of firewood from private property was reported in the area of Chatsworth Road and Kriscott Road, Whiskey Creek, on August 17. 

15) File 2021-8860: A watch was found on the Coombs walking trail in the area of Alberni Highway and Station Road, Coombs, on August 17. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

16) File 2021-8863: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 900 block of Church Road, Parksville, on August 17. Noted missing were a Bosch 18V drill, driver and charger in a blue Makita bag, Makita 18V cordless impact driver, Makita cordless ½” drill, Bosch 12V multi angle driver and other items.

17) File 2021-8865: Damage to curbing at the rear of a building was reported in the 100 block of Hirst Avenue East, Parksville, on August 17. Attempts were made to remove rebar from the curbing.

18) File 2021-8875: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 2900 block of Dolphin Drive, Nanoose Bay, on August 17. The residence was ransacked.

19) File 2021-8890: Gas was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 3000 block of Park Place, Nanoose Bay, on August 18. A hole was drilled in the gas tank to remove contents.

20) File 2021-8889: Graffiti was reported sprayed on a picnic shelter at the Parksville Community Park, on August 18. Someone also attempted to burn some newspapers as well.

21) File 2021-8895: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 3500 block of Island Highway, Qualicum, on August 18. Food, jewelry and keys were noted missing.

22) File 2021-8985: Graffiti was reported sprayed on a fence in the 700 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on August 20.

23) File 2021-8989: A red with white, grey and black grip Stryker Boat paddleboard was reported stolen in the 1000 block of Resort Drive, Parksville, on August 20.

24) File 2021-8992: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the area of Memorial Drive and Hilliers Road South, Qualicum Beach, on August 20.

25) File 2021-9014: An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 1200 block of Arbutus Road, Parksville, on August 20.
