Crime Watch Report - August 18 to 24, 2019

Detective During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 300 complaints.

1) File 2019-8997: A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 700 block of Brighton Place, Qualicum Beach, on August 18th.

2) File 2019-8998: Change was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Wellington Drive, Qualicum Beach, on August 18th.

3) File 2019-9004: Change was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Brighton Place, Qualicum Beach, on August 18th.

4) File 2019-9007: 2019-9006: Three additional unlocked vehicles were reported rummaged through in the 1100 block of Wellington Drive, Qualicum Beach, on August 18th.

5) File 2019-9013: RCMP responded to a road rage incident which allegedly occurred on the Alberni Highway on August 18th.

6) File 2019-9040: RCMP arrested a male for being intoxicated in public in the 700 block of Island Highway East, Parksville . The male was taken to the cells until sober before release.

7) File 2019-9043: A motorist reported the theft of a rear BC vehicle plate NB1879 in the 900 block of Kasba Circle, Parksville, on August 19th.

8) File 2019-9055: A residential break and enter was reported in the 100 block of Lambert Lake, Lasqueti Island, on August 19th.

9) File 2019-9059: A safety blanket, a bag of lockout/tag out devices and a first aid kit were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on August 19th.

10) File 2019-9083: Copper valued at $500 was reported stolen from a premise in the 1200 block of Clarke Road, Qualicum Beach, on August 20th.

11) File 2019-9084: An unlocked vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was reported missing in the 600 block of Ermineskin Avenue, Parksville, on August 20th.

12) File 2019-9085: A wallet containing cash and credit cards were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 700 block of Ermineskin Avenue, Parksville, on August 20th.

13) File 2019-9088: RCMP recovered a children’s blue and green bike from a property in the 100 block of Craig Street, Parksville, on August 20th. If this is your bike please contact Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111 during regular business hours.

14) File 2019-9092: The lock to a shed was reported cut off on a property in the 900 block of Wembley Road, Parksville, on August 20th. Nothing was reported stolen.

15) File 2019-9112: A rear BC license plate, NM6061, was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Smithers Road, Parksville, on August 20th.

16) File 2019-9136: A vehicle was stolen from a property in the 300 block of Judges Row, Qualicum Beach, on August 21st. The vehicle was later recovered by Port Alberni RCMP. The keys had been left in the ignition.

17) File 2019-9141: RCMP assisted Conservation Officers for an open fire at a property in the 35000 block of Harris Circle, Qualicum Beach, on August 21st, to keep the peace.  The resident was issued a violation ticket by Conservation under the Wildlife Act.

18) File 2019-9145: Lawn cushions were reported stolen from a property in the 1400 block of Blackbrant Place, Parksville, on August 21st.

19) File 2019-9171: RCMP recovered a black bike in the 2300 block of Island Highway East, Nanoose Bay, on August 21st. If this is your bike please contact Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111 during regular business hours.

20) File 2019-9178: An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 100 block of Hamilton Avenue, Parksville, on August 22nd.

21) File 2019-9182: An unlocked vehicle was entered in the 100 block of Ponderosa Drive, Parksville, On August 22nd.

22) File 2019-9184: Reported on August 22nd that two lawn chairs were stolen from a property in the 1400 block of Mallard Road, Parkville, on August 18th and later found burnt on the beach.

23) File 2019-9190: A vehicle was reported stolen in the 1000 block of Lee Road East, Parksville, on August 22nd.

24) File 2019-9194: Sunglasses and change were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Butler Avenue, Parksville, on August 22nd.

25) File 2019-9210: A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on August 22nd.

26) File 2019-9212: RCMP responded to a report of a bonfire on the beach near the end of the Estuary on Shelly Road, Parksville, on August 22nd. A group was found with a fire and advised that bonfires are banned on the beach which was then put out by group. Parksville Volunteer Fire Department attended to ensure the fire was extinguished to their satisfaction.

27) File 2019-9216: Reported that a shelter valued at $1,500 was damaged by persons unknown in the 3800 block of Melrose Road, Qualicum Beach, on August 23rd.

28) File 2019-9233: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on August 23rd. The converter was valued at $300

29) File 2019-9239: A BC motorcycle plate Z03366 was reported stolen from a residence in the 600 block of Imperial Drive, Parksville, on August 23rd.

30) File 2019-9272: A business reported the theft of both BC plates DP8886 from a vehicle in the 400 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, reported on August 24th.
