Crime Watch Report - February 14 to February 20, 2021

DetectiveDuring this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 243 complaints.  

1) File 2021-1465: A Canada Post box was reported vandalized in the 700 block of Qualicum Road, Qualicum Beach, on February 15th. No reported entry was noted.

2) File 2021-1483: A prowler was reported in the 100 block of Moilliet Street, Parksville, on February 15th. Suspect reported checking windows and doors.

3) File 2021-1488: A vehicle was reported stolen from a property in the 1300 block of Industrial Way, Parksville, on December 6th.  The vehicle was located three hours later by RCMP and two suspects arrested.

4) File 2021-1490: A vehicle was reported to have had a tire slashed in the 100 block of Sixth Avenue East, Qualicum Beach, on February 16th.

5) File 2021-1491: A night prowler was reported in the 600 block of Chinook Avenue, Parksville, on February 16th.

6) File 2021-1493: A local resident reported an attempted online fraud by a person pretending to be a Bylaw Officer on February 16th. Resident recognized the scam and called RCMP.

7) File 2021-1530: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 400 block of Ridgefield Drive, Parksville, on February 17th. Missing were tools valued at $1,500 including an electric router, jigsaw and cordless drill.

8) File 2021-1532: A suspicious vehicle reported in the Whisky Creek area turned out to be a stolen vehicle which was recovered by RCMP on February 17th.

9) File 2021-1538: A counterfeit Canadian $100 bill was passed at a local business in the 200 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on February 17th.

10) File 2021-1548: Two lock boxes were reported stolen in the 100 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on February 16th.

11) File 2021-1551: A pot roast was reported stolen from an outdoor freezer in the 800 block of Cannon Road, Parksville, on February 17th.

12) File 2021-1569: A hedge trimmer, pole saw and a can of gas were reported stolen from a shed in the 2600 block of Blokker Road, Nanoose Bay, on February 18th.

13) File 2021-1572: Fuel was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Herring Gull Way, Parksville, on February 18th.

14) File 2021-1578: A business sign and a doorbell were reported vandalized in the 400 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on February 18th. This is the second reported incident.

15) File 2021-1601: A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 5300 block of Gainsberg Road, Bowser, on February 19th. Noted that a door handle had been ripped off vehicle.

16) File 2021-1611: A dark green Norco XXS mountain bike was reported stolen in the 500 block of Neden Way, Parksville on February 19th.

17) File 2021-1635: A night prowler was reported in the 100 block of Despard Avenue East, Parksville, on February 20th.

18) File 2020-1638: A night prowler was reported in the 2700 block of Sea Blush Drive, Nanoose Bay, on February 20th.

19) File 2021-1640: Assorted keys and a 6/12V battery charger were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Mackenzie Road, Qualicum Beach, on February 20th.

20) File 2021-1643: Vandals reportedly pulled a fire alarm in the 700 block of Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on February 20th.

21) File 2021-1651: A counterfeit Canadian $50 was reported passed onto a business in the 2400 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs, on February 20th.

22) File 2021-1656: A residential break-end-enter was reported in the 1300 block of Meadowood Way, Qualicum Beach, on February 20th.
