Crime Watch Report - February 20 to February 27, 2021

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 245 complaints.  

1) File 2021-1677: A business reported a male subject asking for money in exchange for shopping carts in the 800 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on February 21st. None of the businesses in the block require a deposit for shopping carts.

2) File 2021-1700: A locked utility trailer was reported stolen in the 2400 block of McDivitt Drive, Nanoose Bay on February 22nd. The property was recovered in Nanaimo the next day.

3) File 2021-1704: A Samsung tablet and an assortment of items were found in the area of Corfield and Jensen, Parksville, on February 22nd. Please contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

4) File 2021-1705: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 1400 block of Industrial Way, Parksville, on February 22nd. A number of storage lockers were breached.

5) File 2021-1708: Sunglasses were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1000 block of Resort Drive, Parksville, on February 22nd. 

6) File 2021-1709: A break –and-enter to a storage shed was reported in the 200 block of Lions Way, Qualicum, on February 22nd.  Reported missing were four folding chairs and four 3’ x 4’ commercial rubber floor mats.

7) File 2021-1717: A vehicle window was reported broken in the 400 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville, on February 22nd.

8) File 2021-1729: A prowler was reported to have used a travel trailer in the 1700 block of Miama Court, Qualicum Beach, on February 22nd. Residents are reminded to regularly check travel trailers on property to ensure they are not being used by others.

9) File 2021-1735: Sunglasses and reading glasses were reported stolen from unlocked vehicles in the 700 block of Hollywood Road, Qualicum Beach, on February 23rd.

10) File 2021-1739: An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 100 block of Gerald Place, Parksville, on February 23rd.

11) File 2021-1741: An orange Husqvarna 372XP chain saw was reported stolen in the 500 block of Fourneau Way, Parksville, on February 23rd.

12) File 2021-1743: Wind chimes were reported stolen in the 100 block of Garden Road East, Qualicum Beach, on February 23rd.

13) File 2021-1796: A Miele BB 240 BMX bike was found in the 100 block of Finholm Street North, Parksville, on February 24th.  Please contact Oceanside RCMP during regular office hours to claim.

14) File 2021-1797: A vehicle window was reported broken in the 100 block of McCarter Street, Parksville, on February 24th. The vehicle was unlocked and nothing was reported missing.

15) File 2021-1801: A prowler was reported to have used an unlocked recreation vehicle in the 700 block of Kaplar Road, Qualicum Beach, on February 24th.

16) File 2021-1805: A prowler was reported in the 1300 block of Meadowood Way, Qualicum, on February 24th.

17) File 2021-1839: Five bronze flower vases were reported stolen from a cemetery in the 1000 block of Allsbrook Road, Parksville on February 25th.

18) File 2021-1859: A fishing rod and reel was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on February 26th.

19) File 2021-1871: A pedestrian crossing light was reported vandalized in the area of Memorial Avenue and Crescent Road, Qualicum Beach on February 26th.

20) File 2021-1874: A tire and rim were reported from a vehicle in the area of Bellevue Road and Alberni Highway, Parksville, on February 26th.

21) File 2021-1891: A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Resort Drive, Parksville, on February 27th.

22) File 2021-1912: A yellow seatbelt cutter/ window breaker was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 700 block of Philips Street, Parksville, on February 27th.

23) File 2021-1945: A utility trailer spare tire was reported stolen in the 2900 block of Marshall Road, Qualicum, on February 27th.
