1) File 2023-13: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 1200 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on January 1, 2023. Cash and a payment device were noted missing as well a trespasser slept overnight on premises.
2) File 2023-35: A vehicle was reported lit on fire in the 4000 block of Alberni Highway, Qualicum Beach, on January 2. The vehicle was confirmed to have been stolen from Port Alberni.
3) File 2023-800001: Both BC plates MN186K were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Mulholland Drive, Parksville, on January 2.
4) File 2023-72: A wallet was reported stolen from the lunch room of a business during regular hours in the 100 block of Craig Street, Parksville, on January 3.
5) File 2023-78: An unattended bag containing tools was reported stolen from a maintenance worker in the 300 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on January 3.
6) File 2023-83: A daytime residential break-and-enter was reported in the 100 block of Jensen Avenue East, Parksville, on January 3. Police escorted a squatter off site.
7) File 2023-85: An abandoned vehicle reported by a resident at Despard Avenue and Alberni Highway lead to the recovery of a stolen vehicle from Ladysmith on January 3.
8) File 2023-99: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 200 block of Baylis Road, Qualicum Beach, on January 3. Items in the home were disturbed and dog waste left behind.
9) File 2023-113: A business bicycle rack for patrons was reported stolen in the 200 block of Island Highway
East, Parksville, on January 4.
10) File 2023-116: Registration papers, keys and a jacket were some the items reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Hamilton Avenue, Parksville, on January 4.
11) File 2023-118: A fob and massage tool were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Weld Street, Parksville, on January 4.
12) File 2023-127: Front BC plate PW9668 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1200 block of Fraser Road, Errington, on January 4.
13) File 2023-129: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 200 block of Mills Street, Parksville, on January 4. In addition to damage to building noted missing were a yellow tool box, computer monitor and a modem. A suspect was arrested in possession of some of the stolen property and was released to appear in court at a late date.
14) File 2023-145: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 400 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on January 4.
15) File 2023-185: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 300 block of Blower Road, Parksville, on January 6.
16) File 2023-189: A vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 1100 block of Resort Drive, Parksville on January 6. There were no signs of forced entry.
17) File 2023-194: A resident reported losing $51,000 in a crypto currency company fraud on January 6. The company pressured to invest more than stopped communicating.
18) File 2023-195: A construction site break-and-enter was reported in the 100 block of Hirst Avenue East, Parksville, on January 6. In addition to damage to fixtures some hand held construction tools and Adidas running shoes were missing.
19) File 2023-202: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 200 block of Mills Street, Parksville, on January 6.
20) File 2023-207: A resident reported losing $26,000 in a bank investigator fraud on January 6. Fraudster convinced resident to withdraw funds from account and deposit to a crypto currency ATM and to purchase credit card gift cards.
21) File 2023-211: A resident reported a credit card fraud on January 6. It was suggested that the resident’s phone with their credit card information might have been hacked via a friend’s message app that in turn was hacked.
22) File 2023-219: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 3600 block of Horne Lake Caves Road, Qualicum Beach, on January 6. Resident reported that all electronics were missing.
23) File 2023-226: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 600 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on January 7.
24) File 2023-228: A brown 2003 Ford F350, BC plates RV5869, was reported stolen in the 400 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville, on January 7.
25) File 2023-252: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 100 block of Island highway East, Parksville, on January 7. A suspect was found and removed from the private property.
