1) File 2023-264: A business compound break-and-enter was reported in the 600 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on January 8. A single subject seen on video attempting to steal fuel from a vehicle.
2) File 2023-269: Insurance papers were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Resort Drive, Parksville, on January 8.
3) File 2023-274: A garage door opener was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Fifth Avenue East, Qualicum Beach, on January 8.
4) File 2023-296: Christmas lights were reported vandalized twice in the 700 block of Norwood Place, Qualicum Breach, on January 9.
5) File 2023-329: A business compound break-and-enter was reported in the 600 block of Island highway East, Parksville, on January 10. A female subject was apprehended nearby with stolen goods and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
6) File 2023-342: A resident was reported scammed of $1,850 in an on-line puppy seller scam on January 10.
7) File 2023-371: A large sum of money and a trailer hitch were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2800 block of Whistler road, Qualicum Beach, on January 11.
8) File 2023-376: A resident reported losing $550 when a bank card was accidentally left behind in an ATM and was then used by an unauthorized person on January 11.
9) File 2023-382: A resident reported losing $20,000 in a phone scam purported to be from a courier company requiring a payment on January 11.
10) File 2023-385: A prowler was reported in the 200 block of Evergreen Street, Parksville, on January 11.
11) File 2023-395: A vehicle was reported vandalized and items missing in the 1300 block of Claymore Road West, Qualicum Beach, on January 12.
12) File 2023-396: A rear BC plate, SV288G, was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Pym Street North, Parksville, on January 12.
13) File 2023-406: A resident reported losing $4,700 to a phone scammer purporting to be from an on-line retailer on January 12.
14) File 2023-428: A vehicle was reported vandalized with damage to a door lock in the 1400 block of Huntley Road, Parksville, on January 13.
15) File 2023-476: A vehicle was reported vandalized and a squatter was found inside in by the owner in the 100 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on January 14. A male was detained by police.
