Crime Watch Report - January 9 to 15, 2022

DetectiveDuring this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 202 complaints.

1) File 2022-236: A trespasser was reported in the 1200 block of Pintail Drive, Qualicum Beach, on January 9th.

2) File 2022-255: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 2400 block of Collins Crescent, Nanoose Bay, on January 10. Building sustained damage and merchandise noted stolen. Three males visible in surveillance video.

3) File 2022-258: BC plate EE553B was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1400 block of Industrial Way, Parksville, on January 10.

4) File 2022-259: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 1200 block of Taylor Road, Parksville, on January 10. Reported stolen were industrial water meter 3” bronze strainer, 4” bronze strainer and 6” bronze strainer as well as a 30 lb propane tank, tool box and two padlocks.

5) File 2022-261: Recycled containers were reported stolen from a business in the 3500 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on January 10. Two suspects were apprehended and materials returned.

6) File 2022-264: A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of Hampstead Road, Parksville, on January 10.

7) File 2022-267: An electric vehicle charging station was reported vandalized in the 2800 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on January 10.

8) File 2022-272: An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 500 block of Hampstead Street, Parksville, on January 10.

9) File 2022-278: A building break-end-enter was reported in the 2600 block of Powder Point Road, Nanoose Bay, on January 10. Damaged was noted to building and a desk top computer missing.

10) File 2022-288: A catalytic converter was reported stolen form a vehicle in the 1700 block of Marmor Road, Nanoose Bay, on January 10.

11) File 2022-292: Heating oil was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of First Avenue West, Qualicum Beach, on January 19.

12) File 2022-302: Credit and debit cards as well as a flashlight were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of Barclay Crescent South, Parksville, on December 11.

13) File 2022-323: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1400 block of Island Highway Est, Parksville, on January 12.

14) File 2022-350: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the area of Alberni Highway and Jones Road, Qualicum Beach, on January 13.

15) File 2022-356: Temporary gates, 40 feet of chain and signs were reported stolen from a property in the area of Blacktail Road, Horne Lake, on January 13.

16) File 2022-375: A number of items including a vape pen were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Stanford Avenue West, Parksville, on January 14. No damage to vehicle.

17) File 2022-376: Two jet skis, 2005 Waverunners, including trailer were reported stolen from a property in the 3100 block of Bay Road, Horne Lake, on January 14.

18) File 2022-379: A yellow Fujifilm Digital Camera XP70 was reported lost off the Doehle Stairs, Doehle Avenue, Parksville on January 14. Please contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours if found.

19) File 2022-384: A Samsung smart phone was found on Gainsberg Road, Bowser, on January 14. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

20) File 2022-388: A local resident was reported to have lost thousands of dollars to a cryptocurrency fraud involving an on-line company identifying as Standpoint Finance, an offshore entity.

21) File 2022-402: A suspicious dumpster fire was reported in the 100 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on January 15.

22) File 2022-404: Construction material theft was reported in the 300 block of Wembley Road, Parksville on January 15.

23) File 2022-411: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 900 block of Bouman Place, Parksville, on January 15.

24) File 2022-419: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 1200 block of Taylor Road, Parksville, on January 15. A total of 76 water meters in various sizes with unique serial numbers were noted missing.
