Crime Watch Report - July 14 to 20, 2019

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 321 complaints.

1) File 2019-7419: An RCMP member on patrol identified a suspicious vehicle in the 600 block of Banks Ave West, Parksville, on July 14th. A stolen vehicle with stolen plates was impounded by police and the owner of plates and vehicle notified of recovery.

2) File 2019-7469: Reported on July 15th that a jerry can full of gas was stolen from a property in the 800 block of Fern Road East, Qualicum Beach.

3) File 2019-7470: A 16’ x 8’ construction trailer was stolen along with contents valued at $50,000, from the 600 block of Fern Road, Qualicum Beach, on July 15th. The licence plate number is USG39M.

4) File 2019-7476: On July 15th it was reported that a tire and rim was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 700 block of Island Highway East, Parksville that was for sale.

5) File 2019-7482: A residential break and enter was reported in the 300 block of Church Road, Parksville, on July 15th. The residents were not home at the time however reported that binoculars and some electronics were stolen.

6) File 2019-7489: A vehicle in the 1700 block of Admiral Tryon Blvd, Parksville, was rummaged through on July 17th with nothing reported stolen.

7) File 2019-7518: An attempted theft from a motor vehicle was reported on July 16th, in the 700 block of Soriel Road, Parksville. The lone male was unsuccessful in entering the vehicle as it was locked.

8) File 2019-7524: Damage to a fence was reported in the 300 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville, on July 16th. Appears someone had attempted to gain access to the property.

9) File 2019-7523: An unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Pym Street South, Parksville, was reported rummaged through on July 16th. Nothing was reported taken.

10) File 2019-7533: Reported on July 16th that a pair of $509 prescription Maui Jim sunglasses and some lottery tickets was stolen from a vehicle in the 700 block of Soriel Road, Parksville.

11) File 2019-7552: Reported on July 17th that an unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of Woodland Drive, Parksville, had a can of bear spray removed.

12) File 2019-7555: On July 17th, an unlocked vehicle in the 700 block of Woodland Drive, Parksville, was rummaged through with nothing reported missing.

13) File 2019-7560: Three individuals were arrested for smoking methamphetamine on July 17th, in the 100 block of McMillan Street, Parksville.

14) File 2019-7573: A business in the 600 block of Island Highway East reported damage to a door of a storage area at the rear of the property on July 17th.

15) File 2019-7593: On July 18th a resident reported their vehicle was rummaged through in the 400 block of Aurora Street, Parksville. A suspect unzipped the soft top and stole loose change.

16) File 2019-7614: A theft was reported from a locked car on July 18th, in the 300 block of Craig Street, Parksville. The back window had been left down and loose change was stolen.

17) File 2019-7624: Reported on July 18th that a male stole a delivery package left at a residence in the 500 block of Forsyth Avenue, Parksville. Stolen were a purple exercise ball, a red weighted skipping rope and an inflatable mat all valued at $60.

18) File 2019-7633: A license plate, JA316N, was reported stolen from a vehicle on July 18th in the 1100 block of Bowlby Road, Errington.

19) File 2019-7648: A Nikon camera and camera equipment was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Bramble Street, Parksville, on July 19th. The loss was valued at $25,000. Found at the scene was a skateboard and running shoes stolen from another vehicle in the neighbourhood.

20) File 2019-2650: A yoga mat, some emergency blankets and female emergency hygiene kit was reported stolen from an unsecured vehicle in the 700 block of Ermineskin Avenue, Parksville, on July 19th.

21) File 2019-7664: Reported on July 19th that a storage tarp, boat battery charger, vehicle ramps, duct tape , measuring tape and a chainsaw model MSE141C were stolen from a building in the 6300 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach.

22) File 2019-7702: A 1993 Triton Horse Trailer, BC plate 450856, was reported stolen from a property in the 1300 block of Winchester Road, Qualicum Beach, on July 20th. An estimated $1,000 of materials was in the stolen trailer.

23) File 2019-7736: Spare change was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Moilliet Street North, Parksville, on July 21st. No sign of forced entry
