Crime Watch Report - November 15 to 21, 2021

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 234 complaints. 

 

1) File 2021-12070: A trespasser was reported in the 1200 block of Valley Road, Parksville, on November 15.

2) File 2021-12073: The door of an electrical panel was removed and power was shut off to residences in the 1100 block of Smithers Road, Parksville, on November 15.

3) File 2021-12084: A trespasser was reported in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on November 15.

4) File 2021-12098: Two trespassers were reported in the 600 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on November 16.

5) File 2021-12105: A local resident was reported scammed out of thousands of dollars by a person allegedly calling from Maryland, USA, claiming to be calling on behalf of a major Canadian bank on November 16. The fraudster got the resident to buy prepaid credit cards and forward the card numbers as well as the security pins resulting in a financial loss.

6) File 2021-12111: A BC plate was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on November 16.  Plate was recovered by Nanaimo RCMP on November 26.

7) File 2021-12118: A Ocean Rodeo brand water board was found on Columbia Beach, Parksville, on November 16. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

8) File 2021-12126: A custom bicycle was reported stolen in the 800 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on November 16.  Video surveillance was obtained and being reviewed.

9) File 2021-12136: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, on November 16. Missing was a Honda 2000 generator, gas can and five rolls of copper wire.

10) File 2021-12137: An electric scooter was reported stolen in the 300 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on November 16. It was recovered a short distance away in some bushes.

11) File 2021-12153: A resident was reported scammed out of thousands of dollars by a caller claiming to be from a Canadian bank asking to purchase prepaid credit cards and to provide card numbers as well as pins on November 17.

12) File 2021-12164: A hiking backpack with survival and camping gear valued at $400 was reported stolen in the 100 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville, on November 17.

13) File 2021-12165: An iPhone 7+ was found in the 200 block of Higson Crescent, Qualicum Beach, on November 17. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

14) File 2021-12172: A black 2006 Ford F350, BC plate RE8080 was reported stolen in the area of Hilliers Road and Alberni Highway, Whiskey Creek, on November 17. Contents of vehicle included climbing gear.

15) File 2021-12187: A storage unit break-and-enter was reported in the 100 block of Fern Road, Qualicum Beach, on November 18. Missing was some First Nations art.

16) File 2021-12203: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 2700 block of Island highway West, Qualicum Beach, on November 18. A change box and liquor were missing.

17) File 2021-12214: Change and insurance papers were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of McCarter Street, Parksville, on November 19.

18) File 2021-12222: A quantity of money was found in the 1300 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on November 19. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

19) File 2021-800209: BC plate UMX78D was reported stolen from a trailer in the 3000 block of Pearce Place, Qualicum Beach, on November 19.

20) File 2021-12234: A grey Norco mountain bike was found in the area of Arbutus Drive and Madrona Drive, Nanoose Bay, on November 19. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

21) File 2021-12256: A blue 2006 Suzuki DL650 motorcycle, BC plate L86068, was reported stolen in the 1700 block of Cameron Crescent, Qualicum beach, on November 20.
