Crime Watch Report - October 31 to November 5, 2022

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 207 complaints. 

 

1) File 2022-10792: A resident was reported defrauded of $4,350 by responding to an Instagram romance scam on October 31.

2) File 2022-10802: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 3700 block of Mallard Place, Nanoose Bay, on October 31.

3) File 2022-10823: A theft was reported from a donation bin in the 200 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on November 1.

4) File 2022-10827: A vehicle was reported vandalized while parked in the area of Horne Lake Road and Inland Island Highway, on November 1. A catalytic converter and groceries were reported stolen from vehicle, a window smashed and a handicap parking pass missing.

5) File 2022-10830: An iPad, phone, purse and lunch were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1400 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on November 1. A male was apprehended by police nearby and all goods returned to owner.

6) File 2022-10836: Trespassers were reported defecating, leaving garbage and starting fires in the 100 block of Alberni Highway, Parkville, on November 1.

7) File 2022-10872: Three black colour, Stearns brand, model C1271, personal flotation devices were reported stolen in the 1400 block of Cape Cod Drive, Parksville, on November 2.

8) File 2022-10884: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Lee Road, Parksville, on November 2.

9) File 2022-10893: A porch pirate was reported in the 1100 block of Roberton Road, Parksville, on November 3.

10) File 2022-10901: A black colour Gary Fischer 24 speed mountain bike with 26” wheels was reported stolen in the 200 block of Jensen Avenue East, on November 3.

11) File 2022-10902: A boat reported stolen from Nanaimo was recovered at the marina in the 1000 block of Lee Road, Parksville, on November 3.

12) File 2022-800164: A collapsible table was reported stolen from a community park in the 700 block of Soriel Road, Parksville, on November 3.

13) File 2022-10931: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Lee Road, Parksville, on November 3.

14) File 2022-10941: A vehicle was reported vandalized Halloween night in the 100 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on November 4.

15) File 2022-10965: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 2000 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on November 5. The front door and interior of business sustained damage.

16) File 2022-10973: A green colour Supercycle BMX bike was found in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue, Parksville, on November 5. Contact Oceanside RCMP, quoting file number, during regular business hours to claim.
