Crime Watch Report - September 18 to 24, 2022

DetectiveDuring this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 267 complaints.

1) File 2022-9236: Two male nighttime prowlers were reported in the 200 block of Shelley Road, Parksville, on September 18.

2) File 2022-9241: A black Diamond Back, model A871-9, electric assist bike was found in the 400 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on September 18. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

3) File 2022-9254: Two male vandals were reported to have sprayed graffiti on the train track overpass at the end of Davis Avenue, Parksville, on September 18.

4) File 2022-9258: A pair of bronze heron statues were reported stolen in the 1300 block of Southshore Drive, Qualicum Beach, on September 18.

5) File 2022-9270: Two male car prowlers were reported in the 100 block of Cedar Street, Parksville, on September 19. 

6) File 2022-9275: Food was reported stolen from an outdoor fridge as well as patio cushions and blankets in the 300 block of Martindale Road, Parksville, on September 19.

7) File 2022-9293: A piece of steel lawn art valued at $1,000 was reported stolen in the 700 block of West Ridge Way, Qualicum Beach, on September 19.

8) File 2022-9301: Five males were reported shooting a long barrel pellet gun in a field in close proximity to houses in the 2100 block of Gray Road, Coombs, on September 19.

9) File 2022-9321: Miscellaneous items were reported stolen from a storage can in the 1100 block of Meadowood Way, Qualicum Beach, on September 20. A lock had been cut off.

10) File 2022-800136: BC plate 27633U was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1800 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on September 20.

11) File 2022-9323: A 2017 Yamaha 50cc ATV quad was reported stolen in the 1200 block of Ruffles Road, Errington, on September 20. It was recovered on October 3.

12) File 2022-800138: An election sign for an RDN Area G candidate was reported vandalized in the area of Wembley road and Wright road, Parksville on September 20.

13) File 2022-9370: A Parksville resident was reported defrauded of $5,000 answering an ad on Facebook to purchase bitcoins, on September 21.

14) File 2022-9393: A locked vehicle was reported vandalized in the 1100 block of Franklin Gull Road, Parksville, on September 22. A door lock was smashed, ignition tampered and vehicle rummaged through.

15) File 2022-9396: A Milwaukee Mitre saw was found in the area of Garry Oak Drive and Powder Point Road, Nanoose Bay, on September 22. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

16) File 2022-9397: A porch pirate was reported to have stolen a package in the 200 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville, on September 22.

17) File 2022-9408: A blue Supercycle SC 1800 bicycle was found in the area of Dunn Road and Errington Road, Errington, on September 22. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular hours to claim.

18) File 2022-9442: Two walking poles were found in the 3300 block of Island highway West, Qualicum Beach, on September 23. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular hours to claim.

19) File 2022-9484: A nighttime prowler was reported in the 1000 block of Miraloma Drive, Parksville, on September 24.
